For over 75 years, Specialty Trim & Awning has been a leader in custom awnings, industrial sewing, and high-quality fabrication. Locally owned since 1947, the business took on new life in 1979 when Jerry and Debbie Margrave became owners. Jerry’s journey is the definition of hard work—starting in 1968 as a high school student sweeping floors, he worked his way up to the top. Today, as company president, he personally oversees every project from concept to completion.
Operating from our newly remodeled, 20,000-square-foot facility, we are committed to delivering exceptional craftsmanship, innovative designs, and unmatched customer service. Our dedication to quality earned us the Beautiful Bakersfield Award in 2001 for our showroom and warehouse expansion. In 2019, we further extended our reach with a second location in downtown Bakersfield.
Jerry’s expertise is recognized on a global scale. In 2002, he earned the prestigious Master Fabric Craftsman (MFC) certification—the highest distinction in the awning and canopy industry. With only 220 certified professionals worldwide, this honor underscores our commitment to superior craftsmanship.
Today, Specialty Trim & Awning is the largest custom awning and fabrication company in Bakersfield, trusted by businesses, homeowners, and government agencies alike. We proudly hold federal contracts with FEMA, proving our ability to meet the most rigorous standards with reliability, precision, and durability.
